About the VI PEEL
The VI Peel has been used for over 20 years and was developed by a physician. There are 5 different formulas to target/treat different skin conditions. After discussing your skin goals, I choose the formula best suited to address your concerns. Some patients reach their skin goal with one peel. Others will need 2-3 peels over 4-6 months to achieve their goals, depending on the degree of your current concerns.
Things to consider
*The week you are peeling, avoid direct sun. If you plan to be outside, wear a hat and apply the sunscreen provided with your peel.
*Avoid strenuous exercise for 4-5 days after the peel.
*No retinol products for 7 days prior to peeling.
*If you are prone to cold sores, please notify your provider prior to your appointment. You will be prescribed a pretreatment dose of antiviral medication to take as a peel may trigger an outbreak.
What to Expect
Day 1: The peel is PAINLESS!! Four hours after your appointment you are required to wash your face and apply the towelettes provided.
Day 2: Your skin may look a bit tan and pigment may appear darker. Otherwise, you will not notice much change. It is ok to wear makeup. Before bed there are towelettes to apply.
Day 3-7 : You should begin peeling day 3! It looks similar to peeling skin after a sunburn and starts around the nose/mouth. It does not hurt. You will have post peel protectant and SPF to apply liberally throughout the day. Make up can be worn these days. Drink water to stay hydrated and do not pick at the peeling skin.
